About

Gemma Ginty is a RIAI registered architect located in the West of Ireland. She specialises in the design, planning, and construction of buildings and spaces. Gemma Ginty’s architectural practice is built upon a foundation of extensive and diverse experience, uniquely blending architectural skill with strategic design.

The driving principles of her design focus on the natural elements that exist on a site; the light, the views, the connection to nature. Her aim is to create hard-working plans, where every inch of space is utilised innovatively, without waste. When people experience her buildings, they express their wonder at the clever design. She wants her clients to get good value for money, so the investment in design will deliver ten-fold in the end. Her vision and experience make her uniquely qualified to lead clients on this journey.

Her architectural roots were established through her work as a Project Architect at MOLA Architecture, where she managed complex projects, including international city masterplans, culturally significant buildings and the Terminal 1 extension in Dublin airport. Her early career contributions at Boyd Cody Architects and Paul Keogh Architects provided her with a comprehensive understanding of architectural processes, from design, planning, tendering to construction, across a range of residential and mixed-use projects.

Even when the economic crash happened in Ireland in 2010, she enhanced her business acumen by gaining a Master’s in Business Administration from the Smurfit School of Business in UCD, allowing her to expand her skillset working with Innovation and Strategic Design agencies in London. She led projects for international clients, designing customer journeys through buildings and digital experience. This approach broadened her perspective beyond traditional architecture, emphasising user-centred design and strategic innovation.

Her professional journey continued in London shaping the future of urban living, at the Future Cities Catapult. There, she led projects as Urban Futures Lead, contributing to a global hub dedicated to system solutions for evolving urban landscapes. This experience fostered a deep understanding of how technology, systems, and spaces interact within modern city environments.

When Gemma returned to her hometown of Galway in 2020 after 20 years away. She returned to practice in Galway with a unique approach to architecture fostered by her work experience, travel and training. She funnelled this knowledge to create her exceptional home of the future that showcases the best of energy innovation with enlightened design. She led this project from vision to construction, managing a dedicated team of sub-contractors to bring this vision to reality.

Having built her own dream-home from scratch, she understands the challenges that clients face, making decisions and choosing the best route to maximise their investment. Gemma lives and breathes design excellence, it’s not just a day-job. She graduated with First Class Honours twenty years ago and has been pursuing excellence ever since in her work and continued training.

This rich and varied background has equipped Gemma with a unique skillset, enabling her to lead and manage complex projects, develop innovative design solutions, work effectively with diverse teams, apply strategic thinking and create forever homes with meaning and value.
